WE SAID NO

To West Newton oil and Gas and Tansterne Biomass plant extension

Tansterne Biomass plant
Tansterne master plan
West Newton Oil & Gas
Oil & Gas affected areas
What is it all about ?

Why you should be concerned about these plans to industrialise your area...

The old 'Biomass plant' in Tansterne near Aldborough is owned by a company called GB Bio who currently have a planning application to vastly extend the site.
This is in addition to the West Newton Oil & Gas developments around the same area leading to industrialisation of our coutryside and massive increase in heavy goods traffic through our villages.
We are opposed to the planning application for a number of reasons, some of which are:

  • Laying 70 acres of concrete to store 1000's of tons of 'biomass'
  • Storing 1000's of tons of material outdoors in all weathers
  • Burning of 100's of tons unspecified 'biomass' every day
  • Transporting 100's of tons in lorries through local villages every day
  • Increasing risk of flooding in downstream villages.
